Scene off Highway 191 South of Highway 6
This is one of my favorite scenic areas on the lake – about 5 miles South of Toledo Town. Can you find the turtles mating in the picture? How about the Great Egret snacking on a minnow? Is that an alligator?

Cormorant & Egret Rookery
Cormorant and Egret Rookery on Toledo Bend Lake. These social birds mix together here every Spring to have and raise their young. Occasionally one can spot a Great Blue Heron among them. In the snapshots, note the birdhouse in the background about 1/2 mile away.

Pendleton Bridge & Causeway From LA
Shot from the Louisiana side, it is 3.25 miles to the Texas coastline at this point on the lake. The snapshot zooms to Pendleton Bridge – the border between Texas and Louisiana is the Sabine River, running under the bridge.

Pendleton Bridge & Causeway From TX
Shot from the Texas side, it is 3.25 miles to the Louisiana coastline at this point on the lake. The snapshot zooms to Pendleton Bridge – the border between Texas and Louisiana is the Sabine River, running under the bridge – in case you didn’t know – the river still “flows through” the lake and under the bridge. There is also a single boat that, because of its speed and direction, managed to get into the panorama 4 times!
