NEW BUSINESS
Buoy Marking Project: A discussion was held about the buoy placement and markings on TOLEDO BEND LAKE. Points of the discussion were the Louisiana North/South boat lane, the East/West center line marker, and the Texas North/South center line markers. It was noted that Uniform Markings were needed on the lake. The Texas North/South markers would make it easier for boaters if they coincided with the Louisiana North/South boat lane. The correct and uniform marking of boat lanes should be a Bi-State effort and should be funded by the S.R.A. joint board. Some boat lanes would require cutting stumps to straighten them out for safe boating. It was pointed out that La S.R.A. had sold a stump cutter to the Texas S.R.A. and they had moved it to Lake Fork. The membership will ask their grouos for Approval for the Alliance to pursue the uniform marking of boat lanes on Toledo Bend Lake by the Joint S.R.A. Board.
The South Toledo Bend Civic Association has agreed to support the effout.
MEMBERSHIP COMMMITTEE: After a discussion of new members for the Bi-State Alliance there was a motion by Janna Lehmam to form a Membership Committee. Second by Gerald Whiting. Motion passed. The committee members are Larry Kelly, Janna Lehmam , and Gerald Whiting. Janna Lehman will do computer work required to create a flyer.
